TRAVELLERS BEWARE. A BIG ZERO for this rating. GO TO WESTERN HERITAGE INN in Bozeman instead. They have big clean rooms and a fabulous breakfast and they were less expensive.
Very clean and nice motel. A plus are the small amenities in the room, modern coffee maker and outlet string and attention to details. Nothing fancy but nice.
Independent places like this rely on good reviews, so I'm going to be generous with 5 stars as everybody working there was very nice and the room was quite clean. There are a few things that bugged me about the room that made me uncomfortable. Perhaps I'm nitpicking, but it's the way I feel. The blinds on the window were newer large wooden blinds, and unfortunately let a great deal of outside light into the room. It would have been possible for somebody to peek in directly at the bed if they put their face up to the window. Not that anybody would, but they could so it made me a bit restless. Drapes would cure the problem. Also, next to the bed is a power strip on the desk, a WiFi router on the wall, and power supply dangling under the TV on the wall. All of these things have bright different colored LED lights that brighten a dark room when you're trying to sleep. However, I unplugged everything and it was fine. Tiny bathroom and room but that can't be helped. When I say tiny bathroom, I mean it's a narrow shower (no tub) and a toilet mounted directly in front of it. That can't be helped, and again the staff was great and did an awesome job.
Loved this place! Clean rooms, comfortable beds, fast easy check in. The room was cute and cozy with little touches that made it feel welcoming after a long day on the road. I wish our every stop could be like this. Oh, and very affordable.
As a strong supporter of Mom and Pop establishments we booked a room at this hotel while we were travelling. We specifically requested a room on the first floor and we were guaranteed a room on the first floor. I did question about the cleanliness of the room (as I do when I book any room) and Dan replied that clean is a "relative" term. I told Dan we would be coming in around 7:00 7 :30ish. The room was put under my husband's name which is a very unusual name. He asked for my credit card information. At 6:00 we get a call from Dan telling us he gave our room to someone who had a very similar last name but he could give us a room on the second floor. I asked for a reduction in price for the inconvenience and his answer was no. As we needed a room on first floor we had no choice but to decline. So we were very delighted to find better accommodations at the Western Heritage Inn in Bozeman.
Waited in lobby for 10 minutes while the two receptionists discussed some sort of reservation issue on their circa 1990 Gateway computer. I literally stood at the desk for 10 minutes and neither of the hosts acknowledged my existence. I finally walked out and went to the Budget Host down the road. The manager at that motel was super nice and friendly. Do yourself a favor and drive right past the Country Motor Inn.
